Ella Sims Joins Lott & Fischer

Lott & Fischer is pleased to announce that Ella Sims has joined the firm as an associate attorney.

Ms. Sims graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Science degree, with high distinction, specializing in Biomedical Physics and minoring in Economics, as the highest-performing female student across three campuses, and the top student in the sciences at her campus. Ms. Sims then went on to graduate with a Master of Science in Medical Science from McMaster University. She earned her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, and was the Valedictorian of her graduating law class. Ms. Sims has passed the Patent Registration Examination with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

While in law school, Ms. Sims received seventeen book awards for achieving the top grade in the course. She was a Dean’s Study Fellow for her law school’s Civil Procedure and Property Law courses. Ms. Sims also served as a Research Assistant and as an Associate Editor on Barry Law Review where her law review article focusing on intellectual property waivers was selected for publication.

Prior to joining Lott & Fischer, Ms. Sims served as a law student volunteer with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s “Patent Pro Bono Program,” where she assisted a patent attorney in completing a provisional patent application.
