(CORAL GABLES, May 8, 2013) Lott & Fischer was recognized as one of only four “Highly Recommended” intellectual property firms in Florida by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine in its 2013 IP Handbook. Partners, Leslie Lott and Ury Fischer, were named “IP Stars” in the same publication.

The “IP Star” recognition is a new addition this year to the 20th edition of the IP Handbook published by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine.  The publication features the world’s leading intellectual property firms and attorneys and is widely used by in-house intellectual property counsel at Fortune 500 companies to aid in the selection of outside counsel.  Inclusion is based on surveys and interviews conducted by the magazine, and the listings are available online at www.miphandbook.com.

Ms. Lott is a member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors, and has served on the Trademark Public Advisory Committee of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.   She has been certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in intellectual property law, and has over thirty years of experience in trademark and copyright prosecution and litigation.  She has also been a member of the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals for the Resolution of Trademark Disputes since 1994, and conducts several mediations each year.

Mr. Fischer leads Lott & Fischer’s patent prosecution and litigation department. He has over 15 years of experience in virtually all aspects of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent litigation and prosecution. He is board certified in intellectual property by the Florida Bar and has successfully litigated patent infringement cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, involving a wide variety of technologies. He has also litigated cases involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, false advertising and unfair competition. He regularly renders opinions relating to patent validity, enforcement and infringement and provides strategic advice to companies on the development and management of their intellectual property portfolios.
