Javier Zambrano, who is bi-lingual in English and Spanish, has almost 30 years’ law office experience, including his work for many years as a paralegal responsible for collecting evidence, reporting to clients, preparing documents for filing and  maintaining docketing and filing systems for a highly respected Miami family law practice.  Mr. Zambrano joined Lott & Fischer in 2007, where he has served as a paralegal in the firm’s trademark, litigation and patent practice areas.  His current duties as lead patent paralegal involve preparing supporting documentation and filing new patent applications in the United States and abroad, corresponding with the firm’s international network of patent counsel colleagues, maintaining  the firm’s patent docketing system for relevant due dates in the prosecution and maintenance of patents and preparing  reporting letters to clients throughout the patent process.

Sylvia Donna

Trademark Paralegal

Prior to joining Lott & Fischer, Ms. Donna gained years of experience supporting a litigation team of partners and associates in a nation-wide firm with document production, motion practice, settlement agreements and assistance with trials and hearings for civil  matters in State, Federal and Appellate courts. She began her career with Lott & Fischer as a litigation paralegal, but soon transitioned to intellectual property, specifically trademarks.  Bringing her extensive litigation experience to bear on transactional matters, she has been responsible for maintaining the trademark docket, filing new applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, European Union Intellectual Property Office, and World Intellectual Property Office as well as the State of Florida and individual countries worldwide.  Ms. Donna also maintains trademark registrations and communicates with clients and foreign associate counsel on trademark matters. Ms. Donna is bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Ivy Gonzalez

Trademark Paralegal

Ms. Gonzalez holds degrees in Legal Studies and Computer Science in addition to a Paralegal Certificate. She is also bi-lingual in English and Spanish, and comes to Lott & Fischer with 22 years’ experience as a paralegal and legal assistant, including extensive work in the trademark field.  Having assisted attorneys with foreign and domestic trademarks, preparing and filing documents from application to registration and including maintenance and renewal documents.  She has prepared drafts for Office Action responses, reminder and reporting notices, assignment agreements, cancellations and oppositions and is adept at E-filing documents with the Secretary of State of Florida and with the United States Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Gonzalez also conducts client trademark  and copyright intake and responds to client inquiries, manages client portfolios and researches application requirements and requirements for use and renewal of trademark registrations with clients and with corresponding counsel throughout the world, maintaining  and docketing trademark deadlines utilizing trademark management software.

Jesse Herrera

Litigation Paralegal

Ms. Herrera holds a degree in Public Administration and is bilingual in English and Spanish.  She comes to Lott & Fischer with over ten years of legal experience, most recently working at the US District Court, Southern District of Florida, as Courtroom Deputy to two United States Federal Magistrate Judges.   Ms. Herrera also assisted the assigned Magistrate Judges with numerous duties, such as providing support during settlement conferences, oral arguments, and reviewing external pleadings for conformity with the Local Rules and Procedures. She was also entrusted with high security clearance for performing case management on sealed matters.

She has significant experience in management of large-scale complex cases and is proficient in the use of document management software.  She currently assists our litigation team with all phases of litigation, from inception, through discovery, and trial.
